In the quiet, nondescript moments, our lives bloom.
Contentment is found when we intentionally seek it, yes, but paradoxically when we let go and let it come to us in its own time. Then, it is our responsibility to see it, to recognize it, to be appreciative and to savor it.
Such a moment, for many moments, occurred this past week in my own life - moments of contentment that is, and while I won't go into the details as I want to keep it to myself, it was priceless, and oh, how I was grateful.
Part of the reason it likely presented itself was because I didn't expect it, especially not in the times we find ourselves, but it did arrive and it was intentionally sought out and has been for years.
It helps that spring is the season that surrounds us at the moment here in the Northern Hemisphere. The reminder that life re-emerges after a long hibernation and slowing down, is a worthwhile life lesson to hold close at hand in our present times. Just reading the word and/or phrases in the newspapers - "reopening plans" is a hopeful sight
to see. But again, patience, a steady pace, gradually, with so many aspects of life, rushing never yields the quality results we seek. I have been keeping that in my mind lately, and hearing such a preference from understandably cautious and considered loved ones. And so I have been choosing to savor this slower schedule, this time at home, this letting go of watching every minute of the day, so that I can linger enjoyably where I am before life shifts
again.
This week on the blog turned into a sort-of Earth Day/Week celebration with a couple of posts being inspired by the garden as well as dressing sartorially appriopriate but albeit a bit stylishly for projects in the garden. My tulips began to bloom this week as well, so their pictures were included in Wednesday's post offering inspiration for readers to take up gardening, if nothing else, for all of the well-being benefits. As
well, the readers' favorite post this week was Monday's Motivational which I think, if you haven't read it already, you might enjoy as well regardless of what is going on in the world now or in the future.
Wishing you a wonderful final weekend of April. Wow! Where did this beautiful month go? Wherever it went, if it went quickly, that is a good sign that we spent it well. Thank you TSLL readers for your interest in the weekly newsletter. I do hope you enjoy this week's issue, and until next week, stay well, and I will see you on the blog.
