Walking through my door upon returning home this afternoon, the sun was warm and brilliant, the boys were happy and the birds were chirping. Taking a quick tour of the neighborhood, feeling the sun on my face was the most wonderful priceless gift as the boys strutted and meandered along the
sidewalk.
Little, everyday details and moments matter.
After a week of befuddling, speed-defying news about the ever-changing pandemic, being home, settling into the pace that has been enjoyed and established for many years, I quietly expressed gratitude for all that was well in the moment, which was much.
The calming classical music filled the home this evening as I typed away and Norman rested on my feet. Oscar napped and then asked for his evening snack. All de rigeur moments that brought a smile to my face. Such moments of tranquility are what living well involves and offers. We need only remember to be present and savor them, and practice cultivating them
regularly regardless of what the world whirls into and/or around our lives.
