Some lessons are extremely hard to learn. However, so long as we are resilient in our determination to learn, we will be given opportunities to acquire the knowledge we seek.
Part of me, perhaps a very large part, wishes I could live for centuries, as my curiosity has revealed to me new knowledge acquisition each time I pursue something I wish to learn, and each time I learn something new, a new unknown reveals itself that piques my curiosity. Having a general idea of the infinite knowledge that exists in the world, I am certain this cycle would continue on into
infinity.
To be fair, the learning process is not always fun. It can be frustrating and scary at times. In order to learn to appreciate our good health, it may take a brief dance with the realities of death that step far too close to home, even if only for a moment. To learn the value of ourselves and our truest gifts, the universe may have to go so far as to cause us extreme limitation created by the ignorance of
our own choices. However, lessons need not be presented in a seemingly negative experience along the journey. Instead we can simply go pick up a book on a topic that intrigues us or that we wish to understand so that we can thrive more fully in the direction of our dreams. From choosing to be the student rather than be thrown in "detention" so to speak as to be forceably taught in order to shake us awake to what we need to know to live more fully, the former is a far more enjoyable journey - and
less stressful as well.
Today, consider something you have come to realize is a gap in your knowledge base - perhaps it is how to better communicate, give better advise to those you love in order to set them free to live their best life, or maybe you simply need to understand how to feel more comfortable with your own company or cook simple, yet delicious meals to attain the resolution you set for yourself at the beginning of the 2020.
Wherever the gap resides, choose to be the student, and you will alleviate much unnecessary stress cultivating a journey that may just become more enjoyable than you once thought possible.
In this week's newsletter, discover what is already the top post of 2020, a long list of 50 Ways to Live Simply Luxuriously compiled from posts and episodes created over the past 10 years of writing TSLL blog. Lastly, be sure to follow me on Instagram (@thesimplyluxuriouslife) as beginning this weekend, the mudroom makeover will take place. My hope is for the major components - wallpaper and wall hooks - to be complete in two days. I am still waiting on the bench I ordered to arrive as well
as my lighting fixture, but *fingers crossed* all should come together by the end of January, and I look forward to sharing in a detailed post full of "before"s and "after"s on the blog to be permanently archived.
But now, it is time to begin perusing and enjoying the newsletter. :) Have a wonderful weekend, and until next week, I’ll see you on the blog.
