,
The days are gradually beginning to lengthen here in the northern hemisphere; however, the night sky still outlasts the daylight which means what better opportunity to work on projects inside. :)
During this past week I excitedly shared with IG followers the two wallpaper choices I had narrowed down for my mudroom, and sought their ideas, preferences and insights. I cannot thank
everyone enough for the thoughtful observations, keen eye for detail and honest responses (see the post and two options here). It is my goal to have the mudroom completed by the end of this month, and I look forward to sharing the process as I go along on Instagram and the final results will
most definitely be shared in detail on the blog.
As much as I eagerly await the sun and warmth and lush foliage to return, I am also grateful for the time afforded to stay inside, organize my ideas and find clarity with decisions not only for my home projects but other life directions as well.
What I continue to discover during such times is that while an idea may seem implausible to figure out initially, so long as I begin the process of scouring ideas, feeding my mind with new insights, creative expertise and varied perspectives, the lightbulb moments happen unexpected in the most ordinary of moments as I go about my regular routine. Such was the case with my wallpaper decision
that solidified which wallpaper would be invited into my home to greet me each day I return home from wherever my life invites me to go. It just occurs in the mind like a gift, but in actuality, it is a reward for having patience with the process of discovery. Trying to force an idea to occur is akin to forcing a daffodil to rise from the frigid soil before it's done hibernating - it is either not going to happen or if it does, it may not bloom and only reveal greenery which defeats the
point entirely of planting daffodils to greet us with their beautiful sunshine after a long winter.
So perhaps, if you find yourself longing for a season of the year that is not what you currently are in the middle of, use the time to cull your ideas so that they may eventually offer an aha discovery in the most ordinary of days that will undoubtedly brighten not only your day but many days and months (dare I say years) moving forward.
In today's newsletter, I have something that will hopefully brighten your day quite delightfully as Sharon Santoni has offered one lucky TSLL reader an upcoming delivery of My Stylish French Box.
