,
Last weekend, I arrived home to about six inches of snow. My first snow shoveling of the season!!! Yes, I truly was excited (admittedly, I am not complaining that it was relatively light and fluffy snow ;)). However, what was made clear is when tasks we need to tend to, which others may loathe, bring us giddyness (as was my
case) or at the very least contentment. What such a feeling reflects is something much deeper about what we are investing our time in beyond that present moment.
Whether we are caring for our home, investing in our neighborhood, as was my case, albeit in a very small way, or choosing to invest in our health with a regular workout routine, invest in a special relationship or be frugal with our finances in order to save up for something far more important than the temptation that dances
across the computer screen, when the task engenders excitement or at the bare minimum resolution and determination to see it through well, we reveal to the world what we prioritize.
Sometimes we are not aware of what we are prioritizing in our lives, and when we examine closely, we may realize that what we are prioritizing aligns exactly as we would want; however, upon examination it is possible that we may realize we were actually investing in a life or a way of life that did not align with what we hoped would
materialize in our near or distant future. Such a discovery is a gift in the latter example. When we see a misdirection, we can correct, and when we correct, we become cognizant about how to proceed in the right direction.
As the new year inches closer, taking time to assess where we prioritize our time, energy and finances will confirm or correct our path forward and ensure what materializes in the new year is all we had hoped for and perhaps more.
In today's newsletter, one of the most popular podcast episodes of the year was shared. A French-inspired theme, if you are looking for timeless style inspiration, you will want to tune in (and the petit plaisir is a show that will help you improve your French and teach you even more about French art history). Also, in Thursday's
Decor Inspiration post and on IG as well, I shared a peek at my new home's exterior. I so appreciate all of the warm wishes of celebration from readers on IG, FB and blog. I cannot wait to continue to share with you glimpses of how the decoration journey unfolds (all I ask for is patience, as it will no doubt take time for my ideas to come together :)). And there is more! I do hope you enjoy this week's newsletter and thank you for subscribing. Until next Friday, I will see you on the blog. Bonne journée.
