,
Summer is just about here, and unofficially it has arrived as the last day with students takes place today. There is something similar to New Year's that occurs in the middle of June each year. Understandably this is likely because I am an educator, but it makes me want to prompt each of us to consider when a "new chapter" or new page turns in our yearly schedule.
What is it that takes place to make us feel renewed, excited and even more eager for the next day to begin? When we find these moments in our lives, we have the opportunity to celebrate and elevate. And even if nobody recognizes the dates you select as significant, if you do, you can plan, design and revel in your own and in your own way that you most will look forward to each
year.
When we choose to find our own moments to celebrate in our everyday, it has an amazing power of creating evermore a life we love living. It just so happens that this summer and last, a couple of days after the last day I was in the classroom, I was and will be hopping on a plane to somewhere I am curious to see (stayed tuned on Instagram to find out where the wheels touch down next week). I may have to make this a yearly ritual, but at least for now, I am savoring having the opportunity. As well, a few years ago, I hosted a dinner party at my home near the summer solistice, and so this year, I decided to do the same as a good friend is arriving in town and I couldn't think of a better reason to gather a few more good friends - both old and new - and enjoy a
meal and an evening without a clock.
There are simple ways we can choose to live that will improve what once was thought of as mundane and humdrum. Our lives our now, and they are frequently offering opportunities to savor, celebrate and appreciate all that we have the opportunity to experience. I wish for you many moments to
celebrate, and may even more be found upon contemplation.
In this week's newsletter, step into my herb garden and discover how to plant your own. As well, this week's podcast episode inspired many comments and emails from readers. There is much more to enjoy, and I do hope you will. Wishing you a lovely weekend, and until next Friday, I will see you on the blog.
