,
May Day, the first of this lovely month of May turned out to be an extraordinary day.
The sun was ablaze, but the breeze kept its heat in check, the local farmers market opened for the first time of the year, a book being waited for patiently from the library become available for checkout and answers, long-sought answers, to a pressing question were finally found.
I have found that one of the greatest moments of exhilaration in this thing called life to be when after a long, sometimes frustrating, but determined effort has been undertaken to find answers to something that needs to be answered in order to progress in a particular direction, the answers, coming from a trusted source arrive. I guess 'arrive' is the wrong verb because these answers have
been pursued doggedly. Make no mistake, such a pursuit has not been passive.
However, sometimes during the pursuit, the quest needs to be put aside, allowed to rest, to gestate a bit so that new skills, new information can be acquired which will enable the pursuit, when picked up again, to be more successful.
Then the dots somehow seem to connect on their own. But, we, the pursuers, no different. We know they have not connected on their own, but rather as a result of refusing to stop seeking the answer we know will make all the difference. But irony of ironies, it does feel as though the dots just click together, effortlessly.
One of the byproducts of such a lengthy pursuit is that we learn two things: one, not to take for granted things working out ever again; and two, that what we are pursuing is something we are indeed deeply passionate about and willing to prioritize highly in our lives.
If you are in the middle of the pursuit, and it is something you are deeply curious or passionate about, something that will not leave your mind wondering what could be if only you could answer this one particular question, do not feel guilty for taking a temporary rest, but know that eventually, the answers will come if you refuse to stop pursuing them.
Speaking of a good day this week, it is my hope that you have a wonderful couple of days this weekend, as yes, indeed, the weekend has arrived. However you are spending it, perhaps leisurely, perhaps in the garden, perhaps wrapping up a semester, maybe on a much-anticipated getaway, have an amazing time.
Last weekend, I wrapped up the schedule of posts and topics and giveaways for TSLL's British Week, and will be interviewing one of the guests for the week's two podcast episodes this weekend - someone I think will be full of inspiration for welcoming a blooming way of life into your everyday. Needless to say, this inaugural week will be full of inspiration at least two times each day, and I cannot wait for
the week to begin so I can finally to share.
Also, I wanted to give TSLL weekly newsletter subscribers a heads up as there will be a limited time opportunity to subscribe to the ad-free version of the blog at a discounted rate. Currently, the monthly rate is $6.99 and the annual rate is $69.99. During British Week (May 19-26), a discounted rate can be locked in. I will be sharing more information on that soon, but if you want to learn more, have a look here.
Now, to the newsletter! I do hope you enjoy and thank you for subscribing to the newsletter. Have a wonderful weekend.
