Dancing into spring, yes indeed!
A new season has arrived, and whether it is spring for those of us in the northern hemisphere or fall for my southern hemisphere readers, it is something most certainly to celebrate.
Knowing that spring would bloom into being this week, I picked up a bundle of daffodils at Trader Joe's this past weekend, and thankfully, they bloomed as though on cue and are still offering a burst of sunshine in my bedroom. I find myself smiling, stopping to do so, each time I walk
past as I notice this bouquet that was fewer than $10.
Simple, thoughtful touches or restorative rituals, when welcomed into our lives throughout the year can be more elevating than we may expect. Whether it is buying a seasonal bouquet, engaging in an activity that brings you joy and deepens your appreciation, or planning a short seasonal getaway to freshen up the mind and routine, tending to our everyday and seasonal needs while pairing with
regular self-care makes a positive difference in the quality of our lives.
One such seasonal activity I have talked regularly about here on the blog, and completed this past weekend was going through my closet. Upon finishing this seasonal task (I try to go through and edit, note what I need, note what I need to fix and figure out what no longer is part of my style, two
times a year), I have more clarity about the outfits I have already prepared and ready to wear for the new season and am better able to shop for the items I truly need as the new collections arrive in stores. With that said, on Monday April 1st, TSLL's annual Spring Shopping Guide will go live on the blog, full of trends to invest in and trends to save on, as well as many different items to shop directly.
Such activities offer clarity, and can save money in the long run as well. And while not all of the seasonal rituals or activities may be simple or free, the goal is to ultimately elevate the quality of our lives, and in so doing, upon finishing the wardrobe edit, planning the getaway, purchasing the flowers, we feel lighter, more eager for the new season to unfold and better able to savor it all.
The spring season is one of my favorite seasons, and as I have shared in many posts from the archvies (I have shared two in this newsletter), the opportunity to start fresh, to create a new start of sorts, is an amazing gift to make the most of what it offers to the best of our ability.
In this week's newsletter, ideas for dressing comfortably and in style for travel is shared as well an idea for simplifying your beauty purchases, especially those that you need come rain or shine year-round. Many more posts, ideas and inspiration are available for you to enjoy, and if you'd like to see me on television, I will be back on Portland's KATU AM Northwest this coming Monday morning at 9 am to talk
about Letting go of the Life Rules that Aren't Working for You and Create Your Own. You can watch live for free no matter where you live here (katu.com/watch). Follow along with TSLL's Instagram to know when I will be on during
the hour-long show.
Now to the newsletter, and to the beginning of the weekend. Wishing you a lovely few days of refreshment, leisure and joy. Until next Friday, I'll see you on the blog.
