Both women, when talking about the topic of work-life balance shared emphatically, that the first 2-4 years of their businesses starting up, they were all in when it came to their business
idea - time, sleep, everything. I appreciated hearing this as it reminded me too of my journey to begin my own blog. And with every new challenge I have chosen to take on, the work-life balance may appear lopsided to outsiders, but not only is it necessary, it is extremely engaging, and I couldn't imagine not doing it. Both women shared this same truth - it is the passion, the curiosity and the drive that makes these initial years what they are, but they also are what is necessary
to build what we wish to build - a strong and sturdy foundation.
Whatever it is that you are pursuing at the moment that has your whole attention, your innate passion and is grabbing your curiosity without relent, rest assured that the time you are dedicating to it, the time that you are not able to dedicate to other aspects of your life that may feel less nurtured will be worth it. And simply because your work-life balance may feel out of whack right now (it is,
but that's okay), it won't be like this forever. As I have shared before, in order to achieve extraordinary results, we must put forth extraordinary energy in our everydays, but that doesn't have to go on forever. Invest now in the short-term and enjoy what you have worked so hard for in the long-term.
Hang in there, enjoy this amazingly consuming part of the journey, and know I am right there with you with each new venture I pursue as well. It truly is far
more exciting than it is daunting, but without question, a very long nap, weekend of leisure or even vacation at the end of the dedication that was given is always very much enjoyed and appreciated (but also all the sweeter as we know how much work we have dedicated).
