Hello on this last day of August. As we enter the final four months of 2018, I am taking a deep breath. A deep breath with a careful smile upon my face, but
indeed a smile. How about you? How have the past eight months been?
Just this past week I was reminded of the ease with which we can shift our lives without even realizing it. In that same arena, we can also make unhelpful changes gradually without realizing it as well. But the larger and most important point is that lasting change is absolutely possible. However, we often need someone else, an experience with someone else, anything that is beyond just our own company,
to recognize the change, to recognize the consistent effort we have made, and to come to understand that lasting change comes in small, consistent efforts.
I want to welcome the many new weekly subscribers who stopped by this week and chose to sign up to receive TSLL's longest running newsletter (since 2010). A newsletter I hope you find concise and full of the inspiration you seek, as well as the information and pleasure finds you are looking forward, all the
while saving you time as you don't have to worry about missing out on anything that took place during the week on the blog/podcast/etc.
Each Friday this space begins with a letter from the editor, and today I'd like to say thank you to you, the readers of TSLL. As I spoke above about the shifts that occur in our lives without often realizing it, one of the shifts that came to my attention this past week was how much I have thoroughly enjoyed communicating with
readers on the blog, Instagram, Facebook, and all of TSLL's social media hubs as it has been a year of so much back-and-forth, sharing, and really, trusting that I can open up my life a little bit more to readers than I have in the past.
I shared on
Monday's IG post that it was a bittersweet day, not because I wasn't looking forward to what I was stepping
into, but because I had enjoyed my summer so immensely. I know some of us feel this way (each in our unique way) when the summer comes to a close. But what if we brought that energy, that joy into our life in the fall? I am confident I can do it, and if I can, I know you can as well. I will do my best to continue to share regularly throughout the workweek on IG (there will always be the regular blog posts - :)) because that practice in itself is a way to slow down, be present and
look for the magnificent in each day.
With all of that said, as I share in this week's This & That, the goodness around us is abundant, and now it's time to enjoy said abundance. Have a beautiful Labor Day weekend for my readers state-side and a magnificent weekend to everyone wherever you call home on our lovely planet. Do be sure to stop by this weekend if you are looking to update your Fall Capsule Wardrobe as TSLL 2018 Fall Shopping Guide will be
released and TSLL Capsule Wardrobe Boutique will be updated as well.
Until next week, I'll see you on the blog!
