,
I was reminded this week how reading can swiftly transport us to another world, another way of life, another time, as I sat outside late in the evening
during one of the hot days of our week here in Bend (102 degrees I believe was registered). I just sat in the cool night air reading - silently begging to be swept away to a cooler world at the very least. Norman puttered about in the lawn, Oscar laid in the house near the opened door keeping an eye on us both, and my world slowly took a deep breath of deep pleasure, albeit if only in my imagination.
In this week's This & That I have shared a post
of how reading affects our neurological system, changing the brain, and while I knew reading was beneficial, it was a worthwhile reminder to keep turning those pages, absorbing and examining new ideas and becoming lost in the chapters.
Some weeks soothe us, some weeks reassure us, some weeks beg to wake us up from going down the wrong path, some weeks are restful, while others still need us to just celebrate and dance about. But more often than not, a
week is a mixture of all of these aspects, and it is our job to be conscious and present enough to see those moments when they present themselves. This week was such a week, full of a multitude of requests from the universe, and I did my best to heed what it insisted I do. From confirming projects weeks and months ahead for the blog, tending to the budget, reveling in the cool morning air, examining and discovering ways to work smarter and elevate the quality, just ot name a few
generally.
How about you, what was your week full of? Sometimes just asking ourselves this question allows us to slow down, appreciate and express gratitude for the week we had and become more determined to take a slower notice in the week we have ahead of us.
On Sunday, TSLL's annual French Week kicks off, and as I share in the news & information box below, the first post will be a giveaway not to miss. Throughout the week, there will
be two posts (at least) each day, and a second giveaway on Tuesday. Informally, French Week kicked off this past week with my post of Monet's Gardens. Be sure to have a look, and enjoy the video that accompanies it as more images are included in the film than are in the post. Another light-hearted post to check out was shared on my Instagram feed this week in which Norman is captured loading the paddleboard for a morning paddle. He is, as I mention, quite the pro, and I am
unabashedly proud of him to say the least. :)
As you will see below, it was a busy week on the blog with a sale to check out, a new favorite tv series that is returning and my thoughts on why I am so excited, as well as two Outfits of the Week (why not?). I do hope you enjoy, and thank you for subscribing to the weekly newsletter. I look forward to a full and celebratory week of all things French starting on Sunday! Until next Friday, I'll see you on the
blog.
