The tricky part is, we cannot know how close or how far away we are at any given time for certain, but I will share I do think we know more than we realize if we would tune into our intuition. First
of all, our intuition knows if we are sincerely passionate about something. Even if we cannot coherently explain our undying desires to someone else, but we have this innate pull, longing or drive to do something, we know our energy levels and capacity to have enough to endure long stretches of uncertainty. And while we may not know when we will "break through the wall" so to speak, if you have been tuning into yourself, tuning into the environment in which you are immersed and have
been so far heeding your instincts thus far about and it has been revealing to you that you are doing something right, than you know more than you realize.
Whether you are sticking to a resolution and just barely seeing results, but ARE seeing results, keep doing what you are doing. Stick to that workout plan, stick to the daily habits that are making a positive difference. Perhaps your stick-to-it-iveness pertains to a long-term goal you have been working on, and
maybe the grand goal hasn't happened yet. Don't stop just yet. First check in with yourself regarding the two points I mentioned above, and if you were nodding your head agreeing that both are offering auspicious indications, then stick with it. The wall is about to break.
Even on small things we are trying to figure out, it can sometimes seem we will never do so right up until . . . it does. Case in point (again, this is a small example, but an aha lightbulb
ignited in my imagination when it occurred about just the topic being discussed in today's letter). What was it? you are asking. Well . . .
I have been scratching my head, asking for help from a few people who know the blog's intention and premise nearly as intimately as I do, to help me construct a more precise and accurate tag-line. Last month I thought I had it, but something still didn't ring correctly for me with what I had come up
with; however, it was this past Wednesday night when I was reading a random book about travels to France that a phrasing caught my eye and sparked a new turn of phrase using the inspiration I came across.
I played around with it and nearly immediately, I knew it was the tagline I have been looking for, I would even say, since the founding of the blog. Yes, the previous tagline worked "Refined living on an everyday income", but at the same time, it wasn't entirely
inclusive of the grander goal of living simply luxuriously. After all, if we are truly living well, we are surpassing even our own, let alone society's, expectations for ourselves, so I wanted something that spoke to this goal. Here it is:
Cultivating the art of living well: a life of quality over quantity.
So, what do you think? As the first book shared, we are very much the curators of our unique simply luxuriously life, and it is a truly conscious pursuit, something we cultivate. It is also something that takes time as we bring more and new experiences and understandings of ourselves: what we love and value, what we need to distance ourselves from and the defaults we need to refrain from that are
not serving us well. And at the core it is about choosing wisely, a letting go and knowingly welcoming what will elevate the overall quality of our lives.
Needless to say, it was for me a moment I didn't think I would come across until I did. But my mind kept playing with words and sentence constructions, and when it was uttered outloud to no one but myself and the dogs that one
particularly evening, I heard the click. It just fit. And I am confident, if you refuse to stop searching, refuse to stop working and refuse to let go of what you know you will find if only you just won't give up, it will arrive - most likely when you are least expecting it. What a beautiful arrival and a reason to celebrate, non?
