The most beautiful truth behind grand accomplishments whether deemed grand by the doer or the observers usually begins with small steps. Small, steady, with pinpoint focus clarity. However, the amount of steps, the precise journey that will unfold, isn't always as
well-known.
On Saturday last week, as shown in the IG pic at the end of the newsletter, I shared some news. It may seem small to some, but having gone through the process before, to me it was quite significant. I thoroughly appreciated and enjoyed reading the comments and have been waiting for the right moment to dive in, share the commencement with you all and let it unfold as it will. I won't give too much away as I will let you check out the
IG post, but needless to say i have been waiting to trust myself to know when to dive in.
I do not know precisely how the journey will unfold, but I know I will reach my destination. And in an even more reassuring note, as many people do when the summer months arise, the
question of what you will be doing or where you will have the opportunity to escape to is asked, and to be as giddy as I am to say I am staying put to complete my second book, I couldn't ask for a better feeling to do what I love. Of course I love to escape, to travel, to explore, but sometimes, staying put and having the opportunity to do what you thoroughly enjoy is quite a grand gift indeed.
So what are you certain of? What do you love doing? What goals are you
working toward? To have the excitement as well as a pinch of nervous energy is a beautiful, unique combination. I wish you well as you proceed down the path you are on or are beginning. The unknowns make it chaotic at times, but ultimately, the long-term focus keeps you on track and motivates you to persevere. As I mention in the IG post, I am curious to know from you, what you would want to know about the journey as I would love to share as it all unfolds. Please do make a note in the comments
if you have a question or suggestion.
And now to the last Friday before the taping of the June 26th Ask Shannon episode. There is still time to ask a few more questions as long as they arrive by Wednesday June 21st. It's already a full list, but a few more questions can always be squeezed in. Email me at askshannon@thesimplyluxuriouslife.com. I look forward to answering your questions.
Now to this week's
newsletter. The most recent episode of
The Simple Sophisticate was inspired by a new book released by Kate Schelter regarding cultivating classic style within our wardrobe but most significantly within our everyday way of living. Readers have been scooping up her book upon tuning into the episode and for good reason. As shown
here, I too have the book and will confirm, it is a treat. Full of beautiful water-color illustrations by the author herself, the book is a resource of inspiration, specific examples and worthwhile ideas to try. I share 18 I discovered and incorporate into my life, but there are many many more. Be sure to tune in.
And in this week's Why Not . . . ? a post I
have been thinking about for the past few weeks, and as I came upon a particular quote this past weekend, I found the perfect way of presenting the concept: consumption. Consumption regarding food, information, energy, etc. Why not increase the quality of what we consumption. Sharing eight arenas in our lives we can all improve the quality of consumption, readers have responded positively and I am curious to hear from you as well.
But now to the weekend and all
the reading and perusing and relaxing that we can squeeze into two days. Are you ready? I sure am. Have a beautiful one, and until next week, I'll see you on the blog.
