A moment of synchronization. A moment which causes one to take a step back followed by a ginormous smile of appreciation, a dose of relief and a rebuilding of faith that what we have believed at the core of our being is indeed significant and recognized by others as
well.
This coming Monday I am looking forward to introducing you to an author and artist from the Bay Area who through our conversation relieved an appreciation of life and living very much in line with what is shared quite often on TSLL blog. Upon hearing her share her philosophy and approach to life, I felt extremely grateful to have the chance to introduce her to you, The Simple Sophisticate listener.
And so it was after this
experience that I began to feel reassured that while sometimes what we know to be a life truth, even if at first nobody understands or accepts our perspective, so long as we keep diving to a deeper understanding of what we know and living it each day, we will find others who understand.
Choosing to live life driven by our convictions can be lonely times. Or perhaps I should say, in so doing we can feel alone. But I would argue that one never truly feels lonely
because it is far easier to enjoy and live with the company of ourselves knowing we live our truth every day than to go about life knowing we have sold out, followed along and refused to examine life for what it is and discover our unique role in it.
In this week's newsletter, I cannot recommend more highly tuning in to this week's episode of the podcast. The lead woman and co-founder of the vintage jazz band that is just now becoming recognized after only a
few short years of playing together, Elizabeth Bougerol joined me on the podcast. We could have talked for hours. With so much more to talk about, I look forward to having her back on the podcast, but for her inaugural interview we talk about being French at heart (she was born and raised in France), we talk about living in the moment, and pursuing your passion project and knowing when to leap. Oh, and of course we also talk about jazz, and the song she wrote "Wake Up In Paris" is not
to be missed. She shares where the inspiration came for that song, and I have a feeling you will love this it as much as I do.
As well, if you are looking for a classic and sturdy French Market Tote, look no further than this week's Style Inspiration, where a handle of baskets, all shapes, sizes and price points are available.
Well, I will let you enjoy the issue. Have a beautiful weekend, and until next week, I'll see you on the blog.
