,
Say yes.
Before you read any further, what question immediately popped into your mind that you long to say yes to? Be honest. Why do you want to say yes? Are you a little bit scared . . . but mainly over-the-moon for the opportunity to say this
simple, yet oh-so-powerful word?
Listen to what you want to say yes to. Over the past few weeks, a couple of opportunities have arrived in TSLL's inbox, and I have said yes. All of them will and already have stretched me. All of them are opportunities I have been wanting to say yes to if only the chance would present itself.
One of the opportunities was an interview with the woman who will be my guest on the podcast this coming Monday,
May 29th. I cannot speak more highly of whom you will be introduced to. Someone born in France, with lineage from Toronto and now primarily living in Brooklyn (with the occasional trip to Normandy to visit family). We talk life, we talk jazz, we talk the differences in approaches to living between France and America and we talk about stepping into shoes that appear too big and not feeling ready to wear them, but sometimes recognizing there may never be a perfect time. In other words, when
those opportunities arise, whether we think we are ready or not, we need to step toward them with courage and not shrink away in fear. I will stop there for now, and encourage you to tune in come Monday morning. Set aside an hour and be prepared to enjoy and be inspired to pursue your passion project (and maybe tap your toes as well).
And in this week's episode of the podcast, another woman I feel fortunate to call a friend who is building her personal
styling business in New York City joined me to talk about spring trends, the Met Gala and relationships. Full of uproarious laughter and honest conversation, Tiffani Rogers is your guide to all things style in New York City. And did you know you could hire her to be your online stylist if NYC is not in your backyard? Yes, you absolutely can. Be sure to tune in to episode #156.
Yet another exciting bit of blog news was the much anticipated release for those TSLL
readers who want to indulge in cooking this spring season all the while staying within a budget and keeping it simple: The Spring Capsule Menu was released. Full of signature simply luxurious recipes, eight of which were recently shared on the blog, discover how to shop well for ingredients that are seasonal and versatile as you mix and match them in your weekly menu. The PDF download is free and the recipes are the best I've shared so far on the blog (at least that is what my
tastebuds are telling me). I do think you will enjoy (in fact, the last one that was added is this week's Petit Plaisir -a rhubarb and blueberry crostata anyone???).
Lastly, it is the start as well as wrapping up of many seasons this week: Two favorite television series are returning this coming weekend/week (be sure to check out This & That) and semi-annual designer sales kicked off this week as well (all the information is below in the Petite
Post as well as This & That).
Now it is time to enjoy. The newsletter, the long weekend - should you be partaking, your hot cup of tea/coffee and the arrival of Friday. I do hope you have a lovely end of the week, and thank you for subscribing. Until next week, I'll see you on the blog.
