Thursday morning I posted on Instagram a quote of inspiration from talk show
comedian Trevor Noah, "Everything is helping you." Having recently shared with
Vanity Fair, this quote is a motto he regularly repeats to himself, and I couldn't help but adopt it.
After all, if the universe is indeed doing everything it does in an effort to help each and every one of us, all we need to do is allow it. In other words, all we need to do is let go of the assumption that it isn't. And in so doing, we alleviate ourselves of
unnecessary stress, angst, fear and ruining anything that has the potential to blossom into something splendid.
Think about it for a moment.
What if the event, the occurrence, the call, the invitation, the opportunity you wish would happen right now is taking its time because it needs you to fully appreciate it when it does?
What if the weather offers rain on a day you explicitly needed it to burst with rays of
sunlight in order to slow you down, allowing your body and mind to rest due to the overtaxing you had just experienced in days prior?
What if events outside of your control, which you still can't fathom having occurred, materialized to demonstrate the truth you already knew to an audience that still needed to understand?
What if the job you were doggedly pursuing continued to elude you because you needed to realize what special talents
existed quietly under the surface but had you attained what you thought you wanted you would never have unearthed them?
I'd like to accept Trevor Noah's motto. Why not? As we know, we can plan all day long, but ultimately, there are other forces outside of our control. The true and ultimate experience is mastering what we are given and never choosing to sit idly on the sidelines waiting for life to happen. When we choose to partake, when we choose to be an active
participant, our world opens wider and offers more brilliant opportunities than ever imagined.
Choose to see the world as working with you and you choose a life of extraordinary experience.
Speaking of memorable experiences: On Sunday of this past week I allowed myself to be at the mercy of creative exploration. My mind was dancing more quickly as my health was finally 95% and the ideas led the way. I wisely chose to just follow where
they led, and where they led was what you will see in today's newsletter: not one, but two new podcast episodes and a recipe that I have been curious to curate and finally found the courage to do so. As the week unfolded, the ideas kept revealing themselves and the comments from readers shared on the blog and on Instagram perked up my ideas for months to come.
Perhaps it is the gift of spring, perhaps it is the spring in my step fueled by the hope of new
opportunities and determination as I edge closer to grand dreams and goals, from wherever the spark originated, I am thankful. And I hope to spark the gift of creativity and jubilation for the magic of an everyday life lived well in you too.
Have a wonderful weekend, and until next week, I'll see you on the blog.
