Clarity.
To know precisely what you are striving toward and to know exactly how to attain it.
One of the most powerful gifts we can give ourselves is clarity. Upon becoming clear about what we want, knowing why we want it and then knowing how to
attain it, a deep sigh of relief immediately washes over us. Although we shouldn't relax entirely as we still have a lot of work to complete, we should savor what the moment when we tap into the clarity that may have been long elusive feels like for our mind and our body. That feeling is the reward and that feeling will help keep you grounded and on track.
Lately, as I mentioned in this week's "21 Life Lessons Learned in South Korea", I have been
reassessing my priorities. At times what I discover or recognize shocks me, and in other moments of discovery, it seems hands-down obvious. One of the mini-gifts clarity gives us is the ability to let go quite easily of anything that is impeding our path to reach our destination.
This past week I took some time to edit my budget as I began to recognize a few items, monthly, seasonally and so forth, weren't serving me any longer. A few surprised me to let go, but
upon contemplation, I realized, it didn't make any sense to hold on. A quote I came across recently summed it up quite simply, "keep in mind that letting go isn’t the end of the world, it’s the beginning of a new life." And while merely editing my budget may not create a tidal wave of change, it is a small step in the right direction to the change I seek. And those small steps do add up if we keep walking.
So my question to you today is, do you have clarity? Do
you know where you're going and why? And if so, was it easier upon reaching that destination to let go of what no longer served you? I do believe we hang on to habits, people, hopes, anything that doesn't serve us because we don't know what we do want. And so, it is the attainment of clarity that simplifies and offers the courage we need to let go of what we should have relinquished some time ago.
In this week's newsletter, you'll find a detailed recap of my
trip to South Korea. Complete with pictures, life lessons learned and many of your questions asked. The podcast did not take place this week due to losing my voice, but the good news is, as I type this, my voice is back and so too will be the podcast on Monday April 17th with a new episode. To all of my readers and IG followers who wished me well, thank you very much for your kind words and understanding. I was overwhelmed with your kindness.
Wishing you a
lovely spring, Easter, Passover or whatever you may be celebrating these next few days weekend. Until next week, I'll see you on the blog.
