The restart button on a computer is a simple yet quite powerful tool. By quickly selecting it, the computer reboots, new uploads are available and many times the quirks and glitches are ironed out, all with the simple click to "restart".

I was thinking about the restart button, or what I like to call it, the reset button recently. Knowing we can reset our mood, our day, our approach, our perspective is a powerful skill to always keep in the back of our minds. Because while it is easy to forget a reset button's capability when all is going well, knowing it is available when plans go off course can bring a tremendous amount of peace.

In what instances would a reset button come in handy?
  • eating habits - perhaps you are feeling bloated, unenergetic, not your usual self. Reset. Make a conscious decision to write what you eat for 1-2 weeks, read this post, and congratulate yourself for listening to your body.
  • a bad mood - you catch yourself responding negatively to others for no reason except for the fact that they are present. Stop, deep breath, take a moment for yourself, take another deep breath. Be reassured in the truth that we all have these moments, and they don't have to continue any further and ruin the rest of the day.
  • a negative analytical mind orgy - your brain decided to go there - down deep into the dark worries of your mind. Stop. Get busy, do something, focus your attention on the present activity. Reset and take back the control of your mind.
  • progress on your goals runs up against a perceived wall - take a deep breath, take out your goal sheets, look at the facts, reset your approach.
This list contains just a few instances in which a reset may be quite handy, but simply knowing that we possess the power to reset, to step back and examine our current approach and determine how to change it so that the course will run smoother is a reason to relax. Everything will work out well if we remain present, have patience and become clear about what is important.

One part of sharing how to live a simply luxurious life that is important to me is meeting you, the readers. And this weekend I am excited to have a chance to do just that. I will be signing books and answering your questions at a local bookstore just outside of Eugene, Oregon. Located in Lebanon, Oregon, Think Brain Candy is hosting me this Saturday (March 11th) between 5-7 pm, and I look forward to meeting you if you are able to stop by.

This week celebrated International Woman's Day, and in celebration here on the blog, an extra post was written to share one of the many women who inspires me. Be sure to take a look and then feel free to share who inspires you as well.

I hope March is off to a wonderful start, and you are looking forward to the upcoming new season with excitement and confidence that what is around the corner is something most wonderful and worth the journey. Thank you for choosing to subscribe to TSLL weekly newsletter and until next week, I'll see you on the blog.
