Self-care: The ways in which we tend to what we need in order to be more engaged with the world therefore experience it fully. This past week was a week of self-care moments and having planned much of the schedule of activities weeks in advance, I was thankful for the timing when they arrived. From meeting
with good friends, to tending to questions that needed to be answered, taking a breath and stepping away from the computer as well as diving back into more fully to
my determination to learn French, this week righted the rails, corrected my direction and determination and
enlivened me for the holiday season and the ringing in of a new year.
How are you doing with your self-care regimen? Sometimes it does feel as the year winds down that we too are exhausted, but with so much to celebrate and loved ones to celebrate with, our energy ironically needs to be as full as possible. After contemplating this reality, the topic of Wednesday's Why Not . . . ? post was inspired as you'll find 10 ways to reduce your stress these next
six weeks.
This holiday season is going to be a season I change a few things up in simple ways, and I must say I am excited to fully listen to what the holiday season wants to become. After all, sometimes we just go along and we're not sure why. Simply because it was how we have done it in the past seems to be enough reason, but why not contemplate how you enjoy and partake in the holiday season? Why not adjust it so that it brings even more meaning and
appreciation for whom and what you love?
I don't know about you, but reflecting on the why has nearly always welcomed some wonderful aha moments that have provided a path to enrich my everyday life even more. I encourage you to do the same, and I wish you an even more enjoyable and more lovely holiday season.
Have a wonderful weekend. Wishing you safe travels if you are jumping on a plane or into the car or onto the train in
the next few days. And for your travels,
Monday's podcast will be a extra full episode of inspiration on how to live a life you absolutely love to wake up to each and every day. I do hope you'll tune in. Until next week, I'll see you on the
blog!
