Having a tool kit for living well is something I have either subconsciously, and now consciously, sought to build and always carry with me. Throughout the journey of this blog, I have come to realize a liberating truth: we hold within us all that we need if we can just find the courage to learn how to access it, tap into it and let it do what it is capable of
doing.
The same can be said for accepting people for who they are and appreciating the goodness that wants to be revealed and the talent that wants to be shared with the world. When we take the time to step back and appreciate, rather than simply, because we cannot understand, assume something must we wrong, we dampened that person's spirit if only
for a moment. And I have a hard time believing that that is what any of us are here to do on this earth.
If we can trust that what resides within each of us is something good, something amazing, and then choose to have patience as we go about the excavating to discover how to find the treasures and allow others to do the same as we encourage them along, the
outcomes would be life-changing, and all for the better.
It is my belief that everything that happens in our lives contains a glass half full gift if we look for it. For example, often how we learn to find the treasures that lie within ourselves is through a lesson, something we either enjoyed or more often something that wasn't much fun at all. Which is
why when I received last week a couple of TSLL newsletter subscriber emails, I was prompted to write this Thoughts from the Editor post regarding all of the news that has been happening in our world. Writing this post pushed me to contemplate what is really going on, how can any of us in our own small way each
day contribute to improving the world we live in. I would be curious to hear your thoughts if the ideas and events shared have been on your mind as well.
Needless to say, we hold the tools to improve our lives and our world. We do. We truly do. But we have to be willing to do the work, remain curious and step back from trying to control others' lives and instead
remain concerned with how we can improve ourselves. It's not always easy to do, but it's far easier when we enjoy our own company.
Moving on to this week's newsletter. It has been a busy week on the blog. Upon reflection, I was tickled to see so many varying posts for you to enjoy. From recipes inspired by Oregon's own marionberries, to incorporating the
practice of eating courses into the everyday dining routine, to finding ways to be happy at this very moment, as well as a tour of a lovely European-decor inspired boutique right here in Bend, this week there are eight brand new posts for you to enjoy. It is my hope that you find something that speaks to you.
And a head's up, exclusive
information regarding the Capsule Menu that I have been long talking about and promising is finally coming. It's coming very, very soon. Thank you for your patience. I am excited to share what I've created.
Wishing you a lovely weekend, and until next week, I'll see you on the blog.
