As we all know, our minds are powerful motivators or manipulators depending upon how well we understand them. It can seem when things are going well, that everyone must be feeling the way we are or has felt what we are currently feeling, but when things are upside down and we can't seem to make anything work, we can convince ourselves we are the only one's who have ever
felt so horribly.
The truth that we need to remind ourselves of is that we all are experiencing the realities of being human, and we all feel at some point throughout our lives: excitement, anxiety, relief, doubt, validation and rejection. Each of these feelings and others are felt by everyone else
who has lived a long life. Both positive and negative. You are not alone.
It can be hard to remind ourselves of this truth when the cards don't seem to be falling in our favor and much easier to believe when they are. But the reality is we are never alone in feeling what we feel. While yes, each
of us is unique, has particular strengths and talents, human emotion is not unique. When and why we feel it, but not what we feel.
Knowing this fact brings a relief to my mind each and every time I remind myself, and then I get my courage built back up, I give myself a good pep talk and I walk out
the door and face wherever I have the fortune to meet.
A similar truth regarding worry and doubt is that we can create what we tell ourselves. We can help manifest the outcome we hope for or the outcome we dread. Why? Basically, we put on filters, and we look for either positive or negative signs,
embracing or ignoring whichever script we have allowed to run through our minds. In knowing this, it is all the more important to choose hope rather than dread. Faith rather than fear.
This weekend, look at the worries that are taking their time to consume your thoughts. Then remind yourself of the
two life truths discussed above. Now, seek the life and the thoughts that will bring you more peace and contentment. I know which I will be choosing, and I have a feeling you do too.
Speaking of contentment, Monday's post was a post that I thoroughly enjoyed pulling together. For the first time, I
shared something that I hope more and more people will embrace, as I wish I would have far sooner than I did due to the tremendous benefits I have seen in my life. As well, the conversation of being human is the common thread, and it is in understanding what it means to be human and how to respond effectively that can make a world of difference in our daily lives.
Also, this week I wrapped up the quarter in my French course and continue the series that began back in March with 12 more things I learned in French class. I think you will enjoy, especially if you are trying to learn any language or anything new that is a challenge for that matter.
There is so much within our daily lives to smile about, dance about and write down and be thankful about. I hope you feel this way too. Wishing you a lovely weekend, and thank you for subscribing to TSLL newsletter. Until next week, I'll see you on the blog.
