Sticking to something is an admirable trait. Tenacity, perseverance, stick-to-itiveness. After all, expertise with whatever we pursue comes with time, careful attention and a sincere passion for what we're doing. It also helps to be surrounded by those who understand what and why you're doing what you're doing. However, for those who strike out in a direction that is unknown to those around them, it may take time for loved ones to understand.

Most importantly, of the four ingredients, the key to long-term success is passion. You must have a sincere, gut-level love for what you are pursuing, sending time doing day and day out, spending extra hours beyond expectation diving into and growing what you love.

Such a realization, while I've always known at some level, has been revealed to me more clearly as of late, and I must say, it is enlightening. First of all, I have come to appreciate TSLL blog and brand even more than I ever have in the past, if that is even possible; and second, I have come to realize that sometimes others will never understand, and it is not our job to explain after the initial introduction and decision to show an interest for what we love doing.

So often life is revealing itself to us. Sometimes it does feel like it is testing us, but if we look at the glass as half full, it is really opening our eyes to truths that, if we heed what we've seen, will lead us down the path that was meant to coincide with our gifts, our talents and our passions. Now by no means do you need to jump at this very moment, but begin to collect these realizations and eventually, if the revelations continue to speak the same language, sending the same over-arching message, and you as you are trying to figure them out are putting your ducks in a row, eventually, you will be able to jump.

Speaking of jumping, I was jumping full tilt into spring these past few weeks and then (as you will see in my Instagram feed here), winter came back for a brief reunion. But I must say, I was smiling ear to ear and enjoyed the unexpected pause in warm weather. After all, ample warm days are ahead of us. Why not one more reminder of from where we've been to make us appreciate all the more where we are going. In many ways, an analogy of what I was just speaking about above. Sometimes, life holds us back from jumping temporarily, but that doesn't mean we won't eventually jump.

In this week's newsletter, Style ideas and inspiration are front and center with this Wednesday's Why Not  . . . ?. In fact, it was the readers' favorite style post of 2016. As well, DVF is having a fantastic sale through 4/20 with 30% savings. I share my picks and favorite looks below in the dedicated post. But, I am getting ahead of myself. No matter how stylish we may be clothed, it is the follow-through that is the most important aspect. What I'm speaking about is how we speak. In this week's episode of the podcast, I offer NINE tips to improve your speech which will lead to stronger relationships and empowerment in both your professional and personal worlds. I think you might enjoy it. Sam Elliott is mentioned more than once ;).

But now for the weekend. I do hope you have a wonderful few days off or at least shifting gears. Thank you for subscribing and until next week, I'll see you on the blog!
