, Happy Friday! Happy Friday indeed. I must admit that I am ready for a weekend, and a long, luxurious weekend at that. With simple pleasures and pastimes waiting to be enjoyed from reading the latest issues of my favorite fashion magazine Porter, to watching a few runway shows as NYFW hits its stride, to getting outside and just forgetting about time and appreciating the beauty of Mother Nature, I am ready to indulge. Are you with
me?
Before sitting down to write this week's newsletter, the boys and I scooted up to the mountain to get some nordic skiing in as I am not sure how much longer the snow will be around. And as we completed a
couple of loops, I was reminded how by simply getting outside, letting go of demands and leaving the watch and cell phone in the car, the mind can be cleared and begin to think pristinely again. A few new ideas popped up, a few old ideas that I had misplaced and then seeing my dogs blissfully happy made me all the more content.
In this week's Thoughts from the Editor I discussed the importance, but also the how of creating afternoon rituals and routines. Prompted by a request from
a reader, the post help to concretely understand why we need a couple of hours each day to plan according to our needs. While I don't ski every day after work, I do make sure that I involve some sort of activity that helps free my mind. We can lend ourselves a hand and improve the quality of the rest or our day by tending to ourselves in very simple, but kind ways. I encourage you to check out this post, and I'd love to hear your thoughts.
However you are spending the Valentine's Day weekend, I do
want you to know I appreciate the love and support you have for living simply luxuriously. My gratitude and love for your desire to find your fullest potential and live your best life inspires me to continue to explore and follow my curiosities so that I can report back what I discover. Life is a journey, and boy isn't it fun? Wishing a weekend full of much love and affection, until next week, I'll see you on the blog!
