,
The snow began falling around four o'clock in the morning on Tuesday, and it didn't stop until well past my bedtime. For me, it is the experience and the aesthetics that play a powerful role in the festivities of the holiday season or any occasion for that matter. And as I was taking my morning walk with the dogs, stomping through the snow in my snow
boots, I began to truly appreciate the sanctuary of home.
When we're at home, we can relax, be ourselves and just breathe without explanation. The comfort of the hot tea in the morning, the snuggle of the dogs or the casual conversation about the days
events or news heard on the radio, this is what home feels like to me. For the first time, I feel as I have my own home for the holidays, and that feat, to have found a hometown of my own after much searching, is an indescribable feeling. Perhaps I will be able to put it into words more eloquently in the future, but for anyone reading this who hasn't found their "spot" when it comes to settling into a town, a house or a group of people, trust me, you can find it, if you keep searching.
Do not give up.
I know that 2015 has one more month left to enjoy, but I want to express a bit more gratitude along with what I already shared in this week's Thoughts from the Editor.
Thank you TSLL readers and subscribers for making the journey with me as I relocated. At times it was challenging logistically, but never once did I doubt that I was doing the right thing. I feel fortunate to have the opportunity to live in Bend, and my wish for you is that you find your home because I know, if my life is any indication, it is out there waiting for you to gather up the courage to finally arrive.
In this week's newsletter you will find a bounty of inspiration focused on thanksgiving, but also information on the grand holiday sales and deals that are now available to you. Be assured, this is an opportune time to complete your holiday gift list, but also a time to complete your capsule wardrobe as
designer wares that will last for many seasons are on steep reduction. So long as you know what you want and refuse to settle, you will be tickled with the savings.
And one last reminder, be sure to stop by the blog Monday for the return
of TSLL annual Holiday Gift Guide along with many Cyber Monday deals. Wishing you a festive start to the holiday season, and until next week, I'll see you on the blog!
