,
The quote I've been holding in my mind this week has been the one
included in today's newsletter in the bottom lower-left corner, "If you're brave enough to say good-bye, life will reward you with a new hello." Paulo Coehlo certainly held my emotions in his hand this week with these words as I have felt a myriad of emotions.
While yes, I did whole-heartedly and then some want to move to Bend, the long goodbye took its toll and was perhaps necessary as life made sure I appreciated all that I had experienced, the relationships I had built and the time I had given, but for anyone who is contemplating moving, starting fresh, taking a leap and perhaps holding back because you think it is too late, you've invested too much where you are, let me say, as I drove into
Bend on Tuesday evening and the storm clouds and rain greeted me (have I mentioned I am a lover of rain?), I knew I was home. Crazy, as I wasn't able to sleep in my actual bed for a few more nights, but in a weird way that I haven't yet deciphered, I knew I had arrived where I was meant to be.
As I sit and type, my new house is almost set up (just a few more pictures to hang and the boxes in the garage need to be taken to the recycling center), and the breeze is soft and cool as the birds (I haven't figured out which ones yet, but I will!), chirp and chat with each other. This week's Thoughts from the Editor came in the form of my Instagram pics, so be sure to
check out my journey of moving to Bend thus far here. And be sure, I am taking notes of how to move as effortlessly as possible as I experience it first-hand and will share in the coming weeks on the blog. I feel quite fortunate to admit that thus far, everything really is working out well. I am exhausted, yes, but in the
best possible of ways.
Now in even bigger news for listeners of The Simple Sophisticate. As promised, the second weekly episode is about to arrive. Set your calendars for Saturday July 25th, as the first episode (which will be entirely
different from the Monday edition) will air bright and early to kick off your weekend. Stay tuned early next week on the blog as I will detail exactly what you can expect.
More importantly, how are you doing? How is your journey moving
along? I do hope it is going well, and if you need to catch your breath this weekend, do so. Do so regularly and often, as you will be far better off as you go along your chosen path when you've had a long, restful night's sleep and time to just be with yourself without demands.
Thank you as always and most sincerely, for your interest in the TSLL weekly newsletter. I hope you have a wonderful weekend, and until next week, I'll see you on the blog.
