Yesterday I came across a quote that I have held on to since I was a young girl. And upon seeing it, I stopped and reread it with a smile.
“Take into account that great love and great achievements involve great risk.” -Dalai Lama XIV
It was in that moment, that my smile was spontaneous and purely reactive. While for some time, I had ardently believed in such words and what was being asserted, there have only been a handful of times in which the
life truth had revealed itself to be verifiable, and fewer still when I was able to truly appreciate it.
This past week has brought to life one such example of the latter experiences. And while I won't go into it
specifically today, you can guarantee I will in the days and weeks to come on the blog, so do stay tuned. Needless to say, this past week was busy for a handful of reasons, but nonetheless, it was fruitful and I am still pinching myself.
Whatever it is that we seek, desire or have put on our goal sheet to work toward, if it's in alignment with who we are and if it's worth having, it will require great effort, and indeed more than a smidge of risk-taking which can materialize in many different forms.
Now will each of our attempts be met with success? Nope. I can almost guarantee they won't, but . . . eventually they will. If my life is any indication, this eventually that I speak about will occur. So keep dreaming, keeping hoping, and then keeping working. And most importantly take risks, be determined to stand up when the risks don't pan out, and keep striving forward.
