I have heard it said many times that anyone who chooses to spend their time sharing what they love doing with the world needs to grow a very thick skin. And while I have always accepted this as a truth, actually preventing harsh words from penetrating the boundaries we must create is easier said than done.
Fortunately, you, the readers, have been very supportive and kind with your praise, but also with your critiques throughout the duration of TSLL. I have received many helpful emails with suggestions, ideas and edits I might want to make,
and each one I digest wholeheartedly as I readily admit, the blog and all aspects will always be works in progress. For your graciousness, I will always be thankful.
Perhaps everyone's time comes due when harsh criticism that in no way wishes to be helpful but only to hurt arrives, and when we receive such news it is in these moments we appreciate more fully the support, guidance and encouragement we have received along the way.
As you pursue your dreams and goals, as you put yourself out there in any capacity - how you raise your children, how you do your work with the public, the clothes you choose to wear and the words you speak as well as the optimism you exude when it's easier to be cynical - there will always be critics. So long as you know you are doing your best, so long as you know
that perfection is impossible, keep doing what you love. Keep putting more hope, goodness and inspiration out into the world. By doing this you not only will live without regret, but you will also inspire others to find the courage to do the same.
