"I think in a broad sense, happiness and success is really just being
able to do what you want and make a living off of it in the simplest way."
I came across this quote this past week like reading my Sunday newspaper, and I couldn't help but stop and reread it.
I wanted to frame it, because similar to what I posted on Monday's Inspirational post which was readers' favorite this week, it solidified the
idea, that it's not lots of money that determines one success or by following a very specific, prescribed path, but rather finding what you love doing and doing it well enough to be paid enough to enjoy living comfortably.
So simple, no?
Simple in definition, but not so simple in execution. The good news, however, is that if you are willing to put in the time to figure out what makes you come alive, or as was stated in a quote I shared on Twitter "find a job in which your neurosis is constructive," then you must be dedicated to persevere until you can make a living off of it.
Arriving at the marriage of these two ideas takes time and someone who is willing to invest in themselves, but it is absolutely possible.
Before discovering blogging, I wouldn't have completely been able to describe the peace one finds when they enjoy what they are doing, but being able to experience it, to get lost it in each day, I will attest, that it is worth the pursuit.
First step,
discover what you love doing and can offer to people to make their lives better.
Second step, work your tail off whilst having patience.
In today's newsletter, as I mentioned above, Monday's post - 12 Ways to Live a Full Life caught a lot of attention and contemplation. A very simple list - be sure to have a look. And as you noticed earlier this week, as I sent out the announcement, pre-ordering of Choosing The Simply Luxurious Life: A Modern Woman's Guide has begun. You can
receive a signed copy, as well as receive a copy on or before the release date. Simply click here to view the book's trailer, read a detailed description, and place your order if you'd like. Words cannot express how eager I am for you to read the
book.
And so it is with a deep breath that I look forward to the weekend as some simple celebrating will take place and work will be left in the office. A lot has happened in nearly five years here on the blog, and a goal has
finally been reached that I had my doubts would ever actually happen. So, to the weekend, to my readers who made it possible, cheers and have a wonderful weekend. Until next week, I'll see you on the blog.
