The most poignant and appropriate word that is used to describe graduations
is "commencement". Why? Because while initially students and families are celebration the completion of the long journey to receive the diploma, the definition of commencement is to set out in a beginning, to begin, to start. And that is precisely what the receiving of the diploma allows.
The diploma doesn't tell a student where it will lead them, but it is the set of keys that will start the ignition to carry them toward their dreams. It is the dreamer that must navigate the vessel, choose wisely of what should and what should not accompany them on the journey and then remember that their journey will never end so long as they keep striving, trying, and learning.
With my own hindsight offering evidence, I assure students that despite the experience in high school (good or bad), much more amazement, contentment and fulfillment lies ahead. The key, however, to making sure this happens, is to live consciously, never cease to learn, think for yourself and be compassionate toward
others.
Should any of us meet these few, yet powerful objectives, we will be well on our way toward creating a life to savor each and every day.
In this week's newsletter, you'll find that the official announcement of TSLL House being "For Sale" was revealed on the blog along with a few new photographs never before seen (the exterior!) as well as my realtor's contact information. Also on the blog is a commentary on the one summer wardrobe essential that I've discovered is a must-have in every
woman's closet for wanting to remain cool, but be assuredly chic.
The pin below on lobster rolls is
worth checking out as it offers a step-by-step guide on how create your own mouth-watering lobster roll magic (although I have yet to find one that beats Pearl's Oyster Bar's in NYC's West Village). And the next movie on my list to watch is shared in This & That. Wishing you a wonderful weekend, and an especially deeply felt thank you to all of the subscribers who emailed me best wishes on my announced move and sale of my home last week. I can't thank you enough, and am so very excited to share my
journey with you all. Until next week, I'll see you on the blog.
