I recently read a quote that stated, students should learn the language of coding (computer
code) just as they should learn how to speaking properly their own language. Upon reading this statement, a part of me could absolutely understand the necessity.
With the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the world wide web on March 12th, who could have predicted
how the internet has changed the world we live in and how we communicate and make it through our daily lives? Knowing how to communicate effectively in order to achieve our desired goals and build the relationships we wish to cultivate is vital. And in today's modern society, that involves how to communicate online.
So this week I found myself in a dilemma, do I hire a graphic designer to create a few images for a project I'm planning on launching in the fall and winter, or I go about investing the time to teach myself?
Well with anything new, it at first seems impossible, but once we start doing our homework, and with so much of the technical basics having free tutorials online, I realized the task I thought I couldn't figure out was simply a matter of watching
a few videos and following instructions. In a few short hours I had created the first step that initially had seemed like an unsurmountable hurdle.
So maybe I'm not fluent in "coding", but
the good news is, we call all teach ourselves these new digital languages if we're willing to put forth even just a small amount of energy. After all, I don't believe the internet is going anywhere. So if we use it to communicate, knowing how to do so in a way that is true to our voice is crucial.
Speaking of all things new, on Monday I announced that a new weekly post will be appearing on the blog. Each Tuesday, Decor Inspiration will be shared as I will spotlight one home, one room or one specific detail that perhaps will spark an idea on how to cultivate your most lovely sanctuary.
Also, stay tuned next week as I will begin a four part series that will take readers on a tour throughout my own home. I'm eager, to say the least, (but I will be honest, a bit apprehensive as well) to open my doors, as I have been giving a few rooms (dining room, living room, office and hallway) a facelift and would like to share with you how I live simply luxuriously everyday in my Normandy inspired home in Oregon.
With magnificent spring-like weather keeping us warm this week in the Pacific Northwest, I do hope wherever you call home that all is well. May your weekend be sprinkled with a few simple luxuries, and thank you so
very much for choosing to subscribe to TSLL life. Until next week, I'll see you on the blog.
