Hard work. The exhaustive effort leading up to what we hope will work out as we have planned. The extra hours, the moments of uncertainty, the faith that positive results will come into fruition - all of these ingredients will be appreciated when the moment of success and accomplishment arrive.

Going into week two of these new year, I want to take a moment to remind you that pursuing your resolutions is worth it. If you have just commenced upon your journey, you most likely are not seeing many results just yet, but similar to compound interest or allowing bread to rise, so long as you keep the conditions favorable and have contributed the necessary ingredients up front, in time, you will see the results you seek.

The character building aspect of progress is that it is gradual. However, the gift of graduality is permanency. The likelihood that you will regress once you've arrived is far less likely if the steps were well-planned and founded in sound methods and practices. So as we gradually move further into 2014, refrain from faltering permanently and consider any missteps human, because you are. Keep striving forward, keep seeking the best life you are dreaming about, because it's waiting for you.

In this week's newsletter I'm excited to introduce to you a new regular weekly post that you will find on the blog (and in the newsletter) each weekend. Last Saturday the first Le Week-end Petit Plaisir went live with great success, and as you will see when you visit the post, it is a place where I want to share something that will bring a moment of pleasure or joy regardless of your age, income or country of residence. Perhaps a scrumptious recipe to try, a book to read and thoroughly enjoy or anything else that based on my personal experience I am excited to share with you. I do hope you enjoy, and if you wish, pop by the blog this weekend to discover Petit Plaisir #2 (but don't worry, it will be in next Friday's newsletter as well)!

Also this week, if you follow @thesimplyluxuriouslife on Instagram and you've ever wondered where to find the clothes, cooking utensils or decor that you see in any of the images, now you can quickly access direct links to shop these items. Read this week's Extra Post to find out how.

And lastly, a new update to Thursday's weekly Style Inspiration post. Beginning this week, be sure to comment on which outfit you would like me to shop.  Based on readers' comments, I will shop the most popular outfit in the following week's Style Inspiration post - direct links to a similar look to hang in your closet. I'm already enjoying readers' choices, so be sure to stop by and let your style preference be heard!

This weekend I am off to Portland for some interior decorating shopping as I am giving a facelift to my living room. Hopefully next month I will be able to share with you how it all came together. And if any of you live in the Portland area, be sure to stop by Rejuvenation's Factory Sale this Saturday and Sunday when lighting, accessories and more are slashed 50% - a semi-annual sale that is not to miss. Doors open at 10am.

Have a wonderful weekend and thank you for choosing to subscribe to TSLL newsletter. I hope 2014 has begun beautifully for you, and be sure to find some time this weekend to enjoy a petit plaisir. Until next week, I'll see you on the blog.

P.S. For any foodie fans or cooks who are looking for an amazing set of nonstick frying pans, be sure to check out this week's This & That. I most recently added these to my kitchen, and they are an absolute dream at a great price.

Outfit of the Week: No.2

The Style Inspiration post is going one step further to give readers exactly what they've been asking for. Beginning today, you, the readers, have the opportunity to decide what the outfit of the week will be the following week. How? Simply comment on the outfit in this week's post that you want me to shop. Based on your comments received at the end of the post and your emails, I will shop for that outfit and include it as next week's Outfit of the Week.

So to kick it all off, I've included a variety of different styles, looks, staples and colors in this week's post. Enjoy perusing and be sure to leave me a quick comment to ensure that the outfit you want to see with direct links to shop the entire look will appear next Thursday.
