Many people often wish and hope that life will present them with an untroubled path. A path free of obstacles, tribulations and growing pains. I absolutely understand this sentiment and have wished for the same thing more times than I can count; however, the reality remains that we will run into moments of frustrations, occurrences we'd rather not deal with at some point throughout our lives if we are daring to chase our dreams.
While we can most certainly prevent many unfortunate events from happening with planning, knowledge and foresight, there will always be hiccups we can't avoid and cannot predict.
What I have learned so far in my short 34 years is that a sign of progress and of growth is running into these roadblocks, kinks and initial problems. For it is only when we choose to change and improve our lives that we run up against things we've never experienced before. And it is in these moments that we learn, grow and surpass these teachable obstacles that nudge us ever closer to our desired dream.
I have also discovered that life never offers us an obstacle we cannot handle. It's always as if life knows our strength before we do, and often presents obstacles as a way of placing a mirror in front of us and awakening us to a strength we didn't know we had.
So today, tomorrow or anytime in the future, when you run up against something that you at first don't have the answer to, have faith that there is a solution and be thankful that you have been given this opportunity to grow. After all, life is simply an opportunity to step more fully into who we have the potential to become.
