Life is full of moments, people and situations that are out of our control. However, the things we do have control over are our perceptions, beliefs, assumptions, expectations and feelings, as I was reminded after being introduced to Deepak Chopra's most recent book.
Mastering these five things instead of letting them master us takes a conscious and constant effort on each of our parts, and I will honestly admit, I am still a work in progress. However, I think when we realize that we often create moments that we believe our insurmountable, instead of adjusting our perceptions, our feelings, our expectations or our assumptions, we would come to realize that the solution is within our grasp, and we would be able to flow with what occurs in our lives instead of constantly forging against it, thus reducing our stress and anxiety and increasing our happiness and joy for life.
Based on past experiences, we can quickly jump to a particular conclusion and assume the worst, but if we remember and trust our decision making that has put us into this present moment, we must trust ourselves, we must look for our purpose for being placed in such a situation and rise to the occasion to make the most of it, instead of freezing and making the situation worse than it already is.
Such a mind shift is not easy, but the more each of us practices it, the more it will become a habit and the more happiness and contentment we will welcome into our lives.
This week's newsletter is full of what you've come to expect - a wrap-up of the past week on the blog, extra articles found from around the web that I thought you might enjoy, a peek at new additions to my Pinterest boards and Tumblr blog, as well as some window shopping. I know there seems to have been a lot of minor tweaking in the past month, and with any change, while exciting, can be confusing. However, the changes are more in tune with what living a simply luxurious life is all about, welcoming in a quality living environment, but at the same time keeping it as simple as possible so as to provide a more fulfilling experience for the individual living their life.
I hope this newsletter finds you well, and if you are celebrating Easter this weekend, may it be a beautiful gathering and celebration. If you are simply looking forward to a weekend off, do enjoy yourself, relax, make your favorite meal or special treat, spend time with those who lift you up and bring you comfort and then simple revel in such lovely, simple moments.
Have a wonderful weekend, and until next week, I'll see you on the blog.
