The confidence to forge ahead toward new goals becomes easier with each success, but it is important to taste success, and sometimes we can impede this from happening.
By setting ginormous goals without a clear approach broken down into small steps, it will be quite difficult to succeed. I look back on my various efforts to try new things and set more lofty goals, and it has been the success of prior goals being achieved that have helped tremendously when it comes to believing I can accomplish anything I set out to do. However, the key is to taste success.
How can each of us make sure we find success little by little in our lives as a way of fueling the belief that we can achieve even bigger goals in the future? First, be your own cheerleader. When you finish something you have told yourself you will do, celebrate - make your favorite dinner, have a glass of wine, go purchase that dress you've had your eye on. Allow yourself to feel good. And second, make sure you have small goals as well as vast ones as they truly do help keep you on track, and as mentioned in my first point, celebrate these when they have been met.
Why this may sound too simple, be assured, the euphoria of realizing a goal is an adrenaline rush (as many of you undoubtedly know) and has amazing influences on our mind, helping us to belief ever more in our abilities. Taste success and you will believe you can have more.
As September begins and with the reader's favorite post this week, 11 Steps to a Fresh Start, I am reminded of the simple fact that the direction and the mood of our lives can shift in the blink of an eye and most of the time by events we set into motion either on purpose or unknowingly. I mention this because there are always times every so often when we wonder how will this all work out? Will it all work out? And I want to reassure you, that no matter where you are or what is going on that causes you doubt, if you continue to keep your eyes open for opportunities and take the chance to grasp them, at any moment your life will change in amazing, beautiful ways. Have faith and keep trying. I was reminded of this recently and it all comes down to our attitude - choose to be happy and you will create the fact.
I hope this upcoming long weekend for so many of you is the ideal ending to a wonderful summer season. It is also my hope that you found some inspiration and spark for ideas on how to incorporate the new fall fashions after looking over the recently released Fall Newsletter - Navigating the Fall Fashions. During the next few weeks, I will be busy blogging about Fashion Week in New York, London, Milan and Paris, and while these will be the spring fashions, I look forward to showing my favorites to you as they make their way down the runway. Also, on Tuesday, September 6th be sure to stop by the blog as I hope to help you get to know me a bit better. With all of that said, be well and know that you are the only sculptor responsible for creating your masterpiece, and I have confidence you will be successful.
Until next week, I'll see you on the blog.
