uly is almost a memory. Can you believe that? It always amazes me how quickly time skips by as we go about our daily tasks and look longingly into the future.
I find there is much good news in realizing that time does pass with such a brisk pace and that is when it comes to accomplishing our goals.
A quote I came across this past week on Twitter stated, "Think of the long view of life, not just what's going to happen today
or tomorrow. Don't give up what you most want in life for something you
think you want now."
With this thought in my mind, I began to assure myself that the long term goals I have set for myself are manifesting themselves into a soon-to-be reality as long as I don't become distracted with the temptations of things that fool me into believing I want them more than I actually do (the extra pair of shoes, top of the line make-up, the extra scoop of ice cream).
When any of us sets out to achieve what we want to accomplish or change in our lives, it seems that the end is so terribly far away that we can barely see it. However, choosing to begin is often the most difficult part. Be assured that your goal will come into fruition as long as you can keep those unnecessary temptations begging for your time, money and focus at bay long enough to step past them and come ever closer to your intended target.
In this week's most popular post, you'll find 16 ways to help you avoid simple ways you might allow to get in your way toward achieving your goals. A lot of our success is determined by how we can control our thoughts, and I offer up some suggestions on how to take back control and proceed in a positive direction.
Also in this week's newsletter is a giveaway that was just announced on Thursday for anyone looking for a reliable, affordable and versatile online printing service. UPrinting has teamed up with The Simply Luxurious Life this week to give away one of their products to a lucky reader, so be sure to enter by next Thursday (August 4th).
While many of the pre-fall sales are coming to a close on July 31st, beginning in August, fall collections will be in stores for everyone's closets to enjoy. Speaking of a store to visit as you bring some of the classically stylish trends into your wardrobe, be sure to check out Talbots as it has completely revamped itself - click here to see their Fall 2011 Lookbook.
And if transforming your home decor is more your interest, I have found a book you might want to add to your resource list as it provides step-by-step guidance on how to turn any room i. your house into a welcoming environment that reflects your unique style and mood. The Meghan Method is a book I highly recommend. Not only is her advice sound, but the author herself is a treat to converse with as you read each page. She is someone who is not only passionate about the decor process and simplifying it for anyone, but she has taken the time to investigate what really works.
As you enjoy the last few days of July, treat yourself to an at-home facial, invite a good friend to lunch while you sip a glass of wine while tasting something you've always been curious about. Until next week, I'll see you on the blog.
