"Simple can be harder than complex: You have to work hard to get your thinking clean to make it simple. But it's worth it."

ith the news of Steve Jobs stepping down from Apple in the news this past week, it was nearly impossible to notice all the reverence that sprung up from people from all different walks of life.

Included in this week's newsletter is Steve Job's 2005 commencement address to Stanford's graduating class, and I couldn't help but be inspired yet again by his insights and lessons about life (click the link below under Articles from Around the Web to view the entire speech).

It is not news to anyone that we will all cease to live at some point, but it seems to me that such a concrete understanding should propel each one of us to make life into our own unique sculpture. Once we find out how fleeting chances, opportunities and even youth can be, we shouldn't hesitate to seek out what stirs our souls, cast aside doubts and naysayers who are unable to understand our dreams and simply go for it.

With that said, Jobs' legacy is quite profound and one that should be a testament to doing what you love, never giving up and never letting people who don't understand hold you back.

It is easy to wonder now, in the present moment, how the actions we engage in today will pay off in the future, but one of my favorite quotes from his speech speaks to having confidence in just this sort of situation and reassures that as long as you are staying true your passions, the dots connect themselves. "You can't connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards."

The key within all of this is knowing what you love, understanding what intrigues you absolutely and believing in yourself. One of the best and simplest pieces of advice I try to remind myself when I'm having doubts about anything is, "You must first believe in yourself in order for others to see a reason to believe in you as well."

Yes, knowing where life is going to lead us is something we won't ever be assured of, but we can at least determine the energy we put in to getting to where we'd like to go and that is some very powerful fuel if used appropriately.

Many of the posts this week focused on the theme of work as the summer is slowly winding down and many of our schedules are ratcheting up a few notches - reasons to love work no matter where you may find yourself working in the present moment, how to achieve a healthy balance between work and the rest of your life and on a tangent topic, how to best take care of your body so that you are performing at your highest potential.

One thing I have to say about the work I do put into the newsletter and the blog is that I appreciate the feedback from you, my readers. Last week's Coco Chanel post stirred up some lively conversation and this week's Style Inspiration evoked an honest question from a reader that I have a feeling many of you have been wanting to ask (click here to see my response). This blog has become an outlet for me to immerse myself in my passions and to know so many of you as well have a similar love for simply luxurious living does more than you know to reassure me that it really is true that if you are willing to take the risk and put yourself out there, amazingly wonderful relationships and opportunities can occur. For all of this I want to thank you. I feel so incredibly blessed.

Well, enough of the sappy stuff. {!firstname}, may you have a magical weekend. Take some time and assess if you too are following your passions and making life how you'd most love it to be. If you are, proceed on your path that took most definitely great inner-strength and clear focus on your part- celebrate this, for it most certainly isn't as easy as it appears.  And if you are in a quandary about how to right your ship, pause for a moment and map out a plan, breaking it down into small gradual steps because anything you truly desire will take time, but trust me it will happen.  Believe in yourself.

Have a beautiful weekend and until next week, I'll see you on the blog.
