"Life is a matter of passing
the time enjoyably. There may be other
things in life, but I've been too busy passing my time enjoyably to think very deeply about them." - Peter Cook | ||||||||||||||||||||||
There is something very sweet about this time of year, as I look ahead to a season I love and linger in a season that brings so much freedom. What better quandary to be in, no?
It truly is the simple pleasures of life, the walks in the morning that don't require you to rush, the taste of an artisan chocolate truffle that melts in your mouth before going to bed and the leisure time to flip through the multitude of September issues as they pile up in your mailbox day after day that are to be savored this time of year. For each one of us, there are specific simple pleasures that need not be rushed or very expensive, yet bring absolute delight. Soon as the next season arrives, there will be other pleasures, but each season is uniquely its own according to the weather and schedule you keep.
So before rushing off into fall, why take some time to savor one more time (or a few more times) those simple pleasures that will be unavailable to us until next August?
Every so often, I receive emails from readers expressing interest in topics they'd like to see addressed on the blog. I can't tell you how much I am thrilled to learn more about what my readers would like to read about, and I encourage you to send me an email if you have a question about something you'd like me to address, style tips you'd like to see more of or anything else that may be on your mind. After all, it is my intention to create something that my readers find valuable for their lives, and I'm always ready to listen.
I also wanted to give you a heads on something that I have been trying to get accomplished for quite some time. The most recent publicity photo I have of myself is more than 10 years old and I've been in desperate need of an update. So on the Tuesday after Labor Day weekend (September 6th) be sure to stop the blog by as I'll reveal a few of the photos captured by a very talented lady I'd like to introduce you to as she was so easy to work with and exuded professionalism that isn't always easy to find these days.
In this week's newsletter the most popular post was one that originated from a reader's question on how to maintain a bit of mystery all the while being gracious and winsome. Be sure to have a look as you'll find specific tips and ideas as well as fantastic reader comments - Why Not . . . Be Discreet?. Also, one of the things I love about the summer is the ample time to read a book from cover to cover in one entire sitting and that is exactly what happened when I picked up Debra Shigley's book The Go-Getter Girl's Guide. Full of specific advice on how be the master of your ship professionally, this is a resource I'm glad I have on my shelf and I think you will be too.
May the weekend bring exactly what you're needing and a few things you just want to revel in as well. Thank you so much for subscribing to The Simply Luxurious Life newsletter, and until next week, I'll see you on the blog.

This Week's
Style Suggestion
With the outfits I gathered for this week's Style Inspiration post, I couldn't help but feel the whispers and tugs of fall. So I pulled together an outfit that can be worn to work or to a special occasion that ensures you look fabulous with classic black knee-high boots without feeling overdressed. After all, now is a great time to add a classic dress to your wardrobe as I try to do annually (mentioned in Why Not . . . Wear a Dress?)
