"I will honor Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year."

erry Christmas! The stockings are waiting to be stuffed, the sumptuous meal awaits to be devoured and the children can't wait to go to bed so that Santa can begin his rounds. Oh, this time of year is truly magical, isn't? Even though my childhood is far behind me, I can't help but become a bit giddy and excited with anticipation for the grand day itself.
All of the anticipation before Christmas began turning my wheels as I find that with anything, part of the fun is the build-up before the actual event itself. Truly, just dreaming about the possibility of what may be is a joy in and of itself. Whether it be your first day of college, a new job or meeting someone for the first time, the thrill of anticipation is priceless in its very own way. All the more reason to dutifully plan so that the long preamble can be savored.
Speaking of planning for amazing events we wish to see come to fruition, the last Why Not series of 2010 finished up this week with tips on how to successfully combat any obstacles you may run up against when chasing your dreams. The feedback has been wonderful, and I have to admit, I will be following my own advice as I sit down and write my New Year's Resolutions next week.
On a more laidback note, this time of year is something I treasure because I find I have more time to read, and with that in mind, this week's Weekend Reading recommendation is the debut novel of Isabelle LaFleche (author of Pink Lemonade Design blog) and if you are like me and have a passion for fashion, New York and a touch of Paris, you will breeze through it. So much fun and easy reading. I have also included an article from RealSimple that shares 17 Books You Won't Be Able To Put Down if you're looking for a great supply of reading material to dive into.
No matter how you plan on spending Christmas this weekend or simply the remainder of December, I hope you are happy, healthy and can look back and see growth in the year that was. After all, all we can do is do our best and learn from the lessons we come across each and every day. With that in mind, we must be ready for the lesson if we are sure to learn from them.
Merry Christmas , and until next week, I'll see you on the the blog! -Shannon
