erry Christmas! The stockings are waiting to be stuffed, the sumptuous meal awaits to be devoured and the children can't wait to go to bed so that Santa can begin his rounds.  Oh, this time of year is truly magical, isn't?  Even though my childhood is far behind me, I can't help but become a bit giddy and excited with anticipation for the grand day itself.

All of the anticipation before Christmas began turning my wheels as I find that with anything, part of the fun is the build-up before the actual event itself.  Truly, just dreaming about the possibility of what may be is a joy in and of itself. Whether it be your first day of college, a new job or meeting someone for the first time, the thrill of anticipation is priceless in its very own way.  All the more reason to dutifully plan so that the long preamble can be savored.

Speaking of planning for amazing events we wish to see come to fruition, the last Why Not series of 2010 finished up this week with tips on how to successfully combat any obstacles you may run up against when chasing your dreams. The feedback has been wonderful, and I have to admit, I will be following my own advice as I sit down and write my New Year's Resolutions next week.

On a more laidback note, this time of year is something I treasure because I find I have more time to read, and with that in mind, this week's Weekend Reading recommendation is the debut novel of Isabelle LaFleche (author of Pink Lemonade Design blog) and if you are like me and have a passion for fashion, New York and a touch of Paris, you will breeze through it. So much fun and easy reading.  I have also included an article from RealSimple that shares 17 Books You Won't Be Able To Put Down if you're looking for a great supply of reading material to dive into.

No matter how you plan on spending Christmas this weekend or simply the remainder of December, I hope you are happy, healthy and can look back and see growth in the year that was. After all, all we can do is do our best and learn from the lessons we come across each and every day. With that in mind, we must be ready for the lesson if we are sure to learn from them.

How do you define luxury?

Luxury is having comfort in the everyday, and the time to enjoy it. Comfort in who you are and what you do. The time to enjoy all the things that afford you true happiness. Comfort in your surroundings and the time to bask in them. Comfort in knowing what you do is right, and the time to step back and enjoy it.

What luxuries do you enjoy in your every day routine?

I include as much comfort as possible into my everyday life. Whether it is amazing food, time spent with great friends, or even the best candles to make my home smell great. I always try to surround myself with the things I love.

What luxuries do you hope to enjoy in the future?

I hope to enjoy more time for myself in the future. Too often we tend to others comfort and forget that we ourselves are the most important. Even if I can give myself personal time a couple of times a week that would be truly luxurious. Personal time free of my thoughts on others and my thoughts on what I still have to accomplish. My ultimate luxury for the future would be time to relax with a truly uncluttered mind.

Products I Use & Love

Moleskin notebooks are always with me whether I'm at home or out and about. I write ideas, quotes, thoughts, recipes, anything I come across. It takes about 6 months to fill each one and when I finish, I date them so that I can catalogue them if I wish to go back at a later date. The pocket size notebooks are my favorite.
