very once and awhile a day presents itself when you have the opportunity to focus solely on yourself.  A day when your responsibilities have either been delegated or put on hold, and you can just let the day unfold as the minutes tick by.  Yesterday, I had an opportunity similar to this, and I have to say that I wasn't aware of how much I need such a day until I was in the middle of it.

So often, our lives take on a momentum of their own, and it isn't until we consciously stop, pause and take a breath that we realize a breath, or two, is very much needed. For some, the ability to put the brakes on, schedule some time for ourselves is easier than we might expect, and for others it is much more difficult for a multitude of reasons.

Wherever you lie on this continuum, be assured that a day taken for yourself is not selfish; it is oh, so very necessary for you to gain back energy, your joie de vivre and a sound and alert mind.  By referring to an alert mind, what I'm alluding to is being aware of where you're heading and making sure you are heading in the direction you wish to be going.  Those pauses periodically to refresh your vision save so many backward steps that may have to be taken further down the road if you aren't checking in with yourself to make sure you are on the right path from time to time.

So allow yourself to feel like a princess for a day, or whatever luxurious life you'd like to pretend to partake in, because whether the indulgences are simple or grand, they are also very necessary.

Today's newsletter is filled with luxury, beauty and inspiration.  Beginning with a bit of inspiration this week, Monday's post Find Your Gumption was the most commented on, and the Build-A-House post was very well received. The spotlighted reader for today is a lady who is an interior decorator and stylist living in London.  Her impressive taste and generous spirit is how I came to know her, and I am excited to introduce you all to her today.  Be sure to stop by Arianna Interiors for a regular dose of interior inspiration.

, I hope you have a wonderful weekend no matter what your plans may be, and thank you so much for your subscription to The Simply Luxurious Life newsletter. Until next week, I'll see you on the blog.

How do you define luxury?

Luxury is what makes you smile, be relaxed and enjoy life. The simpler the better! It's what makes you happy and comfortable! Life is a luxury that we should not take for granted!

In the words of Coco Chanel ' Luxury must be comfortable, otherwise it is not luxury'  pretty much sums it up for me!

What luxuries do you enjoy in your day to day life?

For me, everyday is full of luxuries. It is spending time with my family, enjoying quality time with my husband, enjoying great food & wine in the company of loved ones and being inspired everyday.

I really do enjoy the simple luxuries in life, for example, having a shower  is a great way to start the day, as I find this such a luxury with just you and your thoughts; it's a great moment to regroup and plan your day.

Sometimes I like to indulge and relax by having a massage; it's fantastic for unwinding and letting go.

What luxuries would you like to enjoy in the future?

There is not much I would change, as I couldn't be more happier and content with life.  Perhaps I would like to travel more so I can learn more about other cultures and be totally inspired and fascinated!....The most important luxury is spending quality time with the people that matter most, so I hope this will continue in the future.  Another luxury? Occasionally spoiling yourself with the odd present or two, a girl can never have too many shoes ;)
