Marion Cotillard in July's Vogue
|
uxuries revealed this week were aplenty it seemed and it all began on Tuesday when Vogue revealed its cover girl. Marion Cotillard (right) appears in a very feminine plum Dior gown. Photographed by Mario Testino in Provence, France, the images are quite beautiful. In other news, Rachel Zoe announced her reality television show The Rachel Zoe Project would begin airing its third season Tuesday, August 3rd on Bravo. But in even bigger news, she just announced Wednesday, she will officially launch her own clothing line which will be in stores in the fall of 2011.
In other luxurious news, Diane von Furstenberg revealed her DvF collection for the home on Thursday. The products won't be available for purchase until January of next year, but the good news is, we know what to look forward to. The collection is divided into three lifestyles: urban, country and sea. Each has its own fashion bedding and accessories as well as plates,
glassware, utensils, serving pieces, table linens and napkin rings.
Free-standing giftware and a bakeware collection complete the line.
The colorful print duvet covers are made of sateen or cotton duck priced at $249.95, as well as a signature matelasse quilt. In addition, a stand-alone collection of vibrant, limited edition print
duvet covers will rotate in and out of stores approximately four times
per year at a $200 retail.
Here are a few photos from the big reveal.

What luxuries do you enjoy in your day to day routine?
Herbal tea, 600+ thread count sheets, French crystal
champagne glasses, lavender body wash, rose oil face cream, cashmere,
distressed leather, driving a lovely vehicle, fresh ocean air, sunlight,
naked gardening, looking at beautiful imagery in print and online,
wearing beautiful sandals, flowers, and holding my boyfriend's hand.

As a student with no
steady income I cannot afford luxury goods like expensive clothes,
dining
in the most exquisite restaurants or traveling to exotic countries
faraway.
Maybe, that is why I consider other, more elementary things as luxury,
like my cappuccino in the morning, a great perfume, books or the various
fashion magazines I am reading. Sometimes I allow myself gorgeous heels
or pay a visit to my favorite sushi restaurant. But things you cannot
pay for, like a good conversation with my mother overseas, an
effusive
welcome from my dog when I enter the apartment or just time with myself
to think about everything and anything are more valuable for me.
Actually
these are the real luxuries we need in life. |
